Hundreds of hungry students at Tokoroa Intermediate School got stuck into the fun, fancy cupcakes on sale on Friday.

The school held its annual cupcake fundraiser for Tokoroa SPCA and acting principal and guest judge Brian Fisher said it was a superb event.

‘‘ We normally raise between $600 and $700 and I’m sure we’ll do that again this year.’’

He said the event on Daffodil Day is the school’s way of giving back to the community.

They have raised more than $2000 since the fundraiser began in 2010 and Fisher said all the money stays in Tokoroa.

‘‘We are quite specific about that.’’

South Waikato News captured a few shots of the cakes and their talented decorators.

Cold selling: Emma-Rose Smith was impressed with what her fellow classmates came up with.
