Quilts gifted to those in need
Tokoroa Council of Social Services and its clients now have 12 beautifully sewn quilts, thanks to the Forestland Patchwork and Quilters group.
The quilts were completed by members, who have been meeting for the past 15 years, and will go towards people in need.
The group also donated 12 more quilts to HOPE Organisation in Tauranga, member Gloria Green said.
Quilts and knitting were also donated to the Neo Natal Department of the Rotorua Hospital for premature babies, she said.
She said that it can take anywhere up to one week for one person to make one quilt. This time around the group had community run days, where all the cutting and sewing was completed before the members took them home to quilt.
