Play­ers turn it on for touch games

The weather may have been grim but that cer­tainly was not re­flected in the play­ers’ spir­its at the Ta­tou Ta­tou an­nual mixed touch tour­na­ment.

Play­ers young and old came as far as Auck­land to take part in the tour­na­ment held at the Pu­taruru Rugby and Foot­ball Club on Satur­day.

Or­gan­iser Mark Hotham was pleased with the day’s event and the at­ti­tudes of play­ers.

‘‘It was a very suc­cess­ful day with a great at­mos­phere and lots of laughs and it’s a spe­cial day for many of us – catch­ing up and play­ing with whanau and friends.’’

The 16 teams were made up of three age groups that ranged from un­der 16s to over 40s.
