Gates should be restored

South Waikato News - - NEWS / HE PU¯RONGORONGO -

I would thank Gail Sneddon for saving these gates from going out of the district. I first noticed the gates were missing about 10 years ago. I wrote a letter to the South Waikato News enquiring about them, nobody at the time seemed to know what had happened to them. So to find they are still in the district is very pleasing.

On reading Gail Sneddon’s letter, I contacted the Mayor Neil Sinclair, to see what he and the council were going to do about restoring the gates to their rightful place. He told me over the phone he would ask the CEO to look into the matter with the possibility of re purchasing them and having them restored to their rightful place. It would be nice if one ouf our local companies could finance the cost of the restoration and replacement of these gates at the sports grounds.
