Squash tournament attracts medallist
Squash players in the South Waikato will get a chance to rub shoulders with Commonwealth Games medallist Joelle King from tomorrow onwards at the Tokoroa New World Squash Open this weekend.
The tournament, being held at the Tokoroa Squash Club, is set to attract 80- plus players from around the region including New Zealand No 1 woman and Commonwealth Games medallist Joelle King.
King is also aiming to have a run around with some of the club’s juniors to give them a few tips.
A number of other higher graded players will give Joelle a run for her money, including A1 grade player Zac Miller, who is also New Zealand’s top 20 male.
The public are welcome at the Tokoroa Squash Club to watch games which will start tomorrow for local players, with most taking place on Friday night and all day Saturday.
