Tokoroa Police responded to 73 incidents in the past week and senior sergeant Jason Henderson said burglary and theft remains a concern. People are reminded to secure their property. ‘‘A lot of these crimes are opportunistic with expensive items left in the open for anyone to see. Unfortunately if you leave your property out like this then you can expect it to be stolen.’’ He said thieves are often lazy people looking for the easy option. ‘‘The answer here is to take responsibility for your property and secure it out of sight which will result in the thief looking elsewhere."
