Silver Fern’s new business
Two of Tokoroa’s success stories are set to take on the world.
Silver Fern Maria Tutaia visited Blue Pacific Minerals recently to learn more about a key ingredient in her beauty line.
Zeolite, the key ingredient to the natural skin cleanser, made by New Zealand company Zeosoft, is sourced from the Zeolite quarry in Taupo.
The netballer was given a tour of the recently opened multi million dollar expansion where the product is processed.
Tutaia an endorser for the beauty product said she was looking forward to working with the business as it develops locally and internationally.
‘‘The natural zeolite and silica minerals will change how women use skin cleansers,’’ she said.
Blue Pacific Minerals zeolite is Biogro registered.
The New Zealand Biological Producers and Consumer Society certifies every sector of the organics industry in the country and the Pacific.
South Waikato district mayor Neil Sinclair and deputy mayor Jenny Shattock joined management in welcoming Tutaia back home.
Sinclair said they were thrilled to learn of this new relationship.
‘‘Blue Pacific Minerals is a great example of council’s commitment to its strategy to support and promote local business growth and new business development and Blue Pacific Mineral’s growth.
‘‘Both in terms of new business opportunities and provision of jobs and the continued diversity of economic opportunities for the South Waikato,’’ he said.
‘‘For us in Tokoroa, we can only be proud to call a talented beauty like Maria Tutaia one of our own.’’
