This is not the time of year that we are both­ered un­duly by th­ese nasty, dan­ger­ous and very de­struc­tive pests.

What I would like to do is en­list the help of ev­ery­one in the com­mu­nity at this time es­pe­cially those folks who are burn­ing fire wood to heat their homes.

I brought in a large bucket of fire­wood this morn­ing and while get­ting the wood off the nice dry pile I was able to kill 5 hi­ber­nat­ing wasps.

They are worth watch­ing out for firstly to avoid an un­sea­sonal sting and sec­ondly be­cause ev­ery one of th­ese hi­ber­nat­ing wasps (if still alive in Spring/sum­mer) will be the mother of thou­sands of
