The fourth Start Ca­reers & Start Liv­ing Expo was held on Mon­day, June 20.

Over 1300 stu­dents from South Waikato schools and the gen­eral pub­lic at­tended. Over 50 ex­hibitors came from as far as Auck­land and Christchurch to of­fer al­most ev­ery ca­reer imag­in­able.

Hobby groups and sup­port or­gan­i­sa­tions com­pleted the ‘‘whole of life bal­ance’’ as­pect of the expo. Unique mo­ments in­cluded mem­bers of the army and navy stand­ing along­side in­quis­i­tive stu­dents do­ing a ‘‘set’’ of Tai Chi.

Oth­ers in­cluded nail driv­ing com­pe­ti­tions, pasta mak­ing, sci­ence ex­per­i­ments and jump­ing com­pe­ti­tions. All of this en­gag­ing our young peo­ple in ca­reer pos­si­bil­i­ties.

The feed­back from the peo­ple who at­tended was ex­cel­lent. The or­gan­is­ers, South Waikato Life­long Learn­ing Group, would like to thank all those who at­tended – mak­ing it a great day, and Gra­ham Brown & Co for mak­ing our fu­tures count by spon­sor­ing this expo.
