Drink responsibly when partying

South Waikato News - - Your Paper, Your Place - SENIOR SERGEANT JASON HENDERSON

We had a busy weekend with alcohol fuelled disorder and police attended several incidents across the town.

The incidents mainly involved people at parties in heavily intoxicated states.

When you are drinking remember to keep in mind how much you are consuming so that it doesn’t lead to poor decision making.

Hosts also need to be aware of their responsibilities and look after those attending their parties.

‘‘There were 14 reports of family violence incidents over the week.’’

Provide food and nonalcoholic drinks and if someone is starting to get carried away have a word with them and tell them to pull their head in.

If you are having a party let us know as we are more than happy to offer advice around how to organise a responsible event.
