South Waikato News - - Your Paper, Your Place -

It’s very disappointing to see that so few people have put their hands up to run for local council so far.

If you want to make a real difference to your community, this is the job to do it.

I find that so many people like to sit back and complain about council and what they are doing.

But so few are willing to front up and get involved themselves.

I echo Mayor Sinclair’s words when he says it’s one of the most important things that one can do ‘‘serve their community’’.

So if you’ve ever thought about being a councillor, or even our new mayor, get that nomination in!

We’ll be checking in again next week and we hope to see that the numbers of nominee has increased.

Meanwhile, reporter Luke will be back at the Sweet Rose on Wednesday morning.

So don’t forget to drop by and say hi.

I’m also just a phone call or email away. So don’t be a stranger.
