The Warehouse and New Zealand’s free and private neighbourhood website Neighbourly.co.nz have partnered up to launch an initiative designed to bring neighbours together to make a difference in their communities.

The Great Community Clean Up is a national initiative encouraging Kiwis to get out into their communities to give them a clean up between 3-9 October 2016.

And we at the South Waikato News want you to let us know what areas you think need cleaning-up in the South Waikato so we can make a change.

The Warehouse Executive GM Community and Environment Paul Walsh, says they’re hoping to see clean up events organised in neighbourhoods throughout the country.

‘‘This is about bringing Kiwis together to make a real impact in their local communities, and it can start with just a small gesture,’’ he says.

‘‘Something as simple as picking up rubbish from your local street or park is a great way to get involved.’’

Neighbourly co-founder Casey Eden says the event is about encouraging ‘‘each and every one of us to take ownership of the places we call home’’.

‘‘A Clean Up doesn’t have to be a huge gesture.’’
