Ritual for universal peace
A new approach to attracting universal peace will be tried out in the South Waikato early next year.
For the first time ever in the South Waikato a Vishwa Shanti yagna- a Hindu ritual for universal peace- is being organised.
Organiser Mohan Lal, who is based in Tokoroa and who is also the president of the Putaruru Tokoroa and District Herb Society, said that the yagna will be conducted in accordance with Vedic rituals.
The rituals will see participants offer obligations into sacrificial fire as Sanskrit mantras are chanted.
Lal said it is done to gain blessings from the religion’s ’’divine mother’’ for individuals and for the whole world.
‘‘The purpose of the yagna is for the increase of enlightenment, knowledge, peace, and prosperity as well as for the removal of negativity and neutralisation of adverse planetary influence,’’ he said.
He said the yagna will take place near Lake Whakamaru on Sunday, January 1 2017 from 9.30am until 12.00pm.
‘‘The yagna will be conducted under the guidance of Vedic purohit Shree Sunil Mishra of Auckland and all are welcome.’’
‘‘The purpose of the yagna is for the increase of enlightenment, knowledge, peace, and prosperity as well as for the removal of... adverse planetary influence.’’ Mohan Lal
