Loving La La Land?

South Waikato News - - Your Health - NATALIA DIDOVICH Icorporate passions:

La La Land is making a splash in cinemas and its old Hollywood charm is certainly worth making a song and dance about.

The critically-acclaimed musical film picked up seven awards at last week’s Golden Globes and has quickly become a fanfavourite thanks to a vintage twist on a modern love story.

If you’ve seen it and loved it, here’s a few tips on how to get the La La Land look at home.

La La Land employs the technicolour palette of years gone by to great effect. Don’t be afraid to channel colour in your home. Experiment with a few bright cushions or an eye-catching piece of art in a contrasting colour to get the look.

If your living room is says drab more than it says chic, try incorporating prints with primary colours to instantly liven things up a bit.

The seamless blending of classic Oldhollywood and modern style is part of what makes the film’s set design so intriguing.

Place a bright art deco settee below a piece of modern art, or incorporate antique store finds into your current decor add some points of interest.

Mia’s room shouts of her love for Old Hollywood cinema like the floor-to-ceiling Ingrid Bergman poster while Gosling’s character, Sebastian, proclaims his love for jazz in his memorabilia collection.

Take a leaf out of the film’s book and incorporate your passions into your decor. Create a display for your favourite 80’s records or find a place to showcase your Crown Lynn collection.
