Op-shop box full of new ideas

It’s hoped Tokoroa’s PAWS opshop will soon be bursting with a box full of innovative ideas.

Staff at the op-shop in Mannering St have set up a shoebox for customers to be able to drop in their ideas of what they would like to see added, changed, or improved at the shop.

Store manager Julian Leite said due to volunteers being limited for time, while still wanting to do right by customers, it’s hoped the idea shoebox will solve the problem.

‘‘We have always had a request book where people can say they are looking for something and if it comes through we can put it aside for them and give them a call but this is going to give as an extra advantage because we will get extra ideas,’’ he said.

‘‘We have a lot of people who come in almost every day religiously and generally they give us ideas or tell us that something is looking a bit the same so we can change it but rather than having volunteers write them out all the time, people will be able to just drop them in the box and we will go through them once a month.’’

‘‘Of course there are going to be some silly ideas but there will be a lot of good ones as well.’’

‘‘When we flick through them there might be a few ‘‘wows, we never thought of that’’ and we will really spring on those ones. Who knows we might get some really juicy ideas,’’ he said.
