Arrest after throat cut
A Tokoroa woman was rushed to hospital with serious knife wounds to her throat on Sunday night.
Tokoroa Police sergeant Brett Watene said she was in ‘‘stable but serious condition’’ following one of two serious family harm incidents in the South Waikato town in recent days.
‘‘She was committed to Waikato Hospital with serious throat injuries as a result of a knife wound and a male has been arrested,’’ he said.
‘‘At this stage he has been charged with breach of a protection order.’’
Watene said police are also on the hunt for Tokoroa man Timothy Wilson in relation to a separate alleged family harm incident.
He said after the alleged incident, which he described as ‘‘serious’’, a police pursuit unfolded in which Wilson managed to get away in a blue Mazda Lantis, registration XG7331.
‘‘We don’t believe he is a danger to the public but there is a warrant for his arrest,’’ he said.
Watene described him as a male Maori in his mid 20s and said a 1996 blue Honda CRV, registration CSD134 was also linked to him.
