Amisfield trees to be harvested
The large 40-year-old pine trees adjacent to the Tokoroa Airfield are set to be harvested.
The trees, which are owned by the South Waikato District Council, will be harvested from May 10 and will be replanted.
The council’s strategic projects manager Sarah Flavall said crews will be working from 7am to 4pm, five days a week.
‘‘Logging trucks and loaders will start earlier at 5am,’’ she said.
The team will be moving around five to six loads per day and the project is expected to take between four and five weeks.
