FROM THE EDITOR
That is quite a change for Putaruru.
Freeing up land for another 1300 sections is quite a major leap for a town of this size.
Given its proximity to both Tauranga and Hamilton, and the cost of the houses in those cities, it should probably come as no surprise that growth is firmly on an upward trend.
Managing that growth is the key and it is refreshing to see a community responding to an issue, before it gets out of hand.
Drawing families into our district through intelligent planning is good for everyone. Ensuring the cost of living remains attractive is important, not only for newcomers, but for all the South Waikato people trying to get into their first homes too.
Nevertheless, it is always better to be on a positive growth cycle, rather than one of steady decline.
Feel free to let us know what you think of the Putaruru Growth Plan. We are always keen to gauge community feeling on issues like this.
