Tokoroa AFC Men’s Football back on top
A win was needed and a win was gained by the Tokoroa AFC Men’s Football Team.
The Tokoroa team will be back amongst the big boys in 2018 following their 3-0 win against Matamata on Saturday.
The win sealed the team’s promotion to the WAIBOP Federation Premiership which is the first time in 24 years.
Needing a win to guarantee the move up, Tokoroa began the game nervously but managed to stay in control.

Captain Chris Teague doubled the advantage right on halftime with an easy finish from a corner.
Despite numerous opportunities in the second half it was left to a comical own goal to round out the scoring, sparking wild scenes of celebration at the final whistle.
Coach Dean Tereu paid tribute to his players and in particular Gareth Williams, Jackson and Logan Allen, Keegan Willis, Chris Teague and goalkeeper Zac Cosgrove.
