Weekly lo­cal fire re­port

Last year the New Zealand Fire and Emer­gency in South Waikato at­tended 342 call­outs. So far this year they have at­tended 294, some­thing they hope to re­duce.

For the past week NZFE has at­tended two jobs where they have as­sisted the am­bu­lance with pa­tient lifts.

They have at­tended one house fire at Sta­tion Road Kin­leith, and one good in­tent call where some­one saw some smoke and thought it would be best check it out. Luck­ily it was noth­ing.

The crew also at­tended three mo­tor ve­hi­cle ac­ci­dents and on top of that at­tended one false alarm.

Chief Fire Of­fi­cer Dave Mor­ris said they had a very quiet week­end with no in­ci­dents which is re­ally good con­sid­er­ing the roads were con­gested with heavy traf­fic, and It was the end of the school hol­i­days.’’
