Weekly local fire report
Last year the New Zealand Fire and Emergency in South Waikato attended 342 callouts. So far this year they have attended 294, something they hope to reduce.
For the past week NZFE has attended two jobs where they have assisted the ambulance with patient lifts.
They have attended one house fire at Station Road Kinleith, and one good intent call where someone saw some smoke and thought it would be best check it out. Luckily it was nothing.
The crew also attended three motor vehicle accidents and on top of that attended one false alarm.
Chief Fire Officer Dave Morris said they had a very quiet weekend with no incidents which is really good considering the roads were congested with heavy traffic, and It was the end of the school holidays.’’
