GETTING RAIL GOING

South Waikato News - - Your Local News - Graeme Pearce

I would like to respond to the letter to the editor submitted by Isaac Broome [South Waikato Times, November 1] about his idea of expanding the rail network in the central North Island for forestry and tourism as follows.

Isaac you would need to submit a full business plan to the minister of transport in Government and you would need to consult with the following company’s and groups Trans rail Nz,forestry industry, Logging contractors, Transport operators ,local Iwi, local councils.

You would also have to do a full feasibility report and costings to support your idea.

If you need any help in doing this I am more than willing to help you. Rail is the way to go. Great for the forestry, to reduce the trucks and freight.

Tourists and general public could use this to be a great advantage for the older people to travel. Good for out of town hospital trips.

I fully support this idea and come on, we need this.
