Great views, Pahurehure location
Stephanie and Peter have lived most of their married life in and around Pahurehure. And when they downsize from their family home they’re sure to stay in the neighbourhood, such is their love for it.
You won’t see the two-storey contemporary home at 72A Elliot Street from the road, but when you’re inside you’ll be impressed by the outlook. It extends far and wide over the Pahurehure rooftops to the Hunuas and hills ringing the southern, eastern and northern skyline.
Stephanie loves the sunrise as seen from the master bedroom and kitchen; the house catches the sun all day through to sunset.
‘‘The views are the reason we’re here,’’ she says, although they’re only part of the attraction. A well planned four-bedroom family home, it affords privacy for all the family plus a fine kitchen and spacious bathrooms, several deck options and a great location – a sought-after street central to local shops, schools, Papakura central and the motorway.
The two downstairs bedrooms lose nothing by comparison to the upstairs – one is a cosy and comfortable, very private; the other has its own access to a deck and corner courtyard – perfect for extended family or older child. Between the two is a good-sized, warm office.
The ground floor is served by a large bathroom with separate shower and bath, good vanity and heating. This floor also has internal access to a bigger-than- double garage and laundry.
Upstairs opens out to the delightful living areas.
A centrally placed dining area is flanked by the modern kitchen and spacious lounge. Both of these rooms have deck access and farreaching views.
The kitchen is well designed with loads of handy work space and storage, and a full complement of quality appliances.
A heat pump serves all of these rooms.
The master bedroom is another spacious room, with two double wardrobes, en suite and deck.
All of the home’s wardrobes have organised storage systems.
Outdoors, maintenance is a breeze – a ‘three-minute lawn’, citrus trees, patios, bin storage, garden shed, all fully fenced and gated: 508 square metres in total.
The local shops including dairy, bakery, chemist and takeaway are just two minutes’ stroll away and the schools are all recommended, including Rosehill College.
Now the children have quit the nest, John and Stephanie are downsizing.
72A Elliot St goes to auction on August 23, onsite at 6pm.

‘Relax’ advises the wall plaque, which pretty much sums up the living in 72A Elliot Street.
