Sunny, immaculate and decked up for summer

Southern Real Estate Guide - - FRONT PAGE -

Our featured home this week is 7 Chrisarda Place – an immaculately maintained family home that suits first-time buyers, young professionals and retirees looking to give up the care of large properties but who value their space.

Chrisarda Place is one of those tranquil Papakura streets that have – without too much fuss – moved up the desirability index. In our view, the primary reason for its popularity is the location. The 789 square metre property is less than 10 minutes to the motorway and within a short radius you have excellent schools, childcare, reserves, children’s parks, the train station and shops.

The street has a stunning backdrop of mature trees that line both sides of the cul-de-sac. The sense of stepping into a quality neighbourhood is unmistakable.

‘‘It is an extremely family oriented street with long-time residents who have considerable pride in ownership,’’ point out owners Patsy and Vaughan, who have lived here for more than nine years.

As you walk down the private driveway that leads up to the property, you are greeted by a home that seems to have been gently dropped into a tropical setting. The couple appear to have taken good care of the property.

‘‘The previous owners had renovated the home to a high standard, and we just carried on from there, adding a new steel roof,’’ Vaughan says.

The interior spaces are wellbalanced and sunny. The hub of the house is the massive lounge – with high stud ceiling – into which light cascades from multiple angles, leaving it warm and cosy. Plus there’s a heat pump for the chilly days and nights.

The lounge opens out via two sets of ranchsliders to Patsy and Vaughan’s favourite spot – the large sheltered deck out back. It is a lush tropical retreat that’s ideal for summer time entertaining or your space where you can relax with a glass of wine.

The dining area and modern kitchen are also sun-drenched and well-located to serve the entertaining areas.

The sleeping accommodation comprises three tastefully appointed bedrooms, with views.

If you are a car enthusiast or just like tinkering with hobbies and projects, the home comes with a cavernous double garage that is awaiting your hot rods. Plus there’s ample parking on site for a trailer or that third vehicle or the boat.

Your safety concerns are addressed as the property is fully fenced and gated, but in our opinion this is an extremely secure neighbourhood.

Patsy and Vaughan have retirement plans drawn up.

‘‘We are looking forward to our new life but will always miss this wonderful home,’’ they say. ‘‘We hope it passes to a family that takes good care of it.’’
