Checking up on car seat safety

-

BY ILONA HANNE

Car seat technicians from KidSafe Taranaki Trust were in Stratford last Thursday, offering free car seat checks.

This car seat clinic will run on the second Thursday of every month at the Stratford War memorial Carpark between 10am and 1pm.

One of the parents to take the opportunity of having her young child’s seat checked was Lynley Perrett who had the technicians check young Conor’s car seat was safely and correctly installed.

“While I knew in my heart it was, I wanted the peace of mind of having it checked today.”

Lynley says Conor is her fourth child, “but that doesn’t mean I know everything about carseats”.

In fact, she says, the rules have changed noticeably over the years since she had her eldest child, who is going on 12 now.

“Even just from my last baby, who is six, things have changed, so it is certainly worth coming and having the check done. It only costs a bit of time.”

Lynley said the check was straightforward and gave her the peace of mind she was hoping for.
