Talkshow host brands Parker ’king of pies’
BRITISH TV host Graham Norton has cruelly labelled New Zealand heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker "the king of pies" for his body shape.
The moment came as Norton had British boxing superstar Anthony Joshua, known for his cut physique, on his show along with Hollywood star Tom Hanks and other guests.
Norton and Joshua were discussing Parker as the big Brit’s next opponent with their world heavyweight unification fight tipped to be confirmed in the next couple of days.
When Joshua mentioned Parker’s name, a photograph of the Kiwi holding his WBObelt above his head came up on the screen.
Joshua labelled Parker "a tidy champion".
But Norton had a different view as he pointed to the photo of Parker: "Can I just say, that looks like it’s going to be quite an easy fight."
"I definitely hope so, but you can’t underestimate anybody," Joshua replied.
"That’s the king of pies," Norton said as the live audience erupted in laughter.
"He must be a world-class athlete but he doesn’t look like one, does he?"
Joshua cheekily suggested "Pie" might be Parker’s new nickname.
Parker has taunted Joshua
Graham Norton used a photograph of Joseph Parker lifting his WBO world title belt to suggest the Kiwi had been eating too many pies.
