Pams Sandwich skipjack tuna in brine

Sunday Star-Times - Escape - - FRONT PAGE -

To be totally fair, we would have preferred to have the tuna in chunks (as with the other varieties) but this was the only variety in brine on the shelves at the time of purchase. As expected, it had the most sodium, at 500mg/100g, but only a little more than the variety in oil. Kilojoules and fat were on par with the tuna in spring water. Our tasters found this least appealing for taste with several saying it was too salty. Cost was a bit cheaper than the chunky varieties at $1.69/185g can. Overall rating: Last – last for taste, second equal for nutrition.
