137 mins ★★★★★ Be­fore you ask, this gets five stars mainly be­cause Ter­mi­na­tor 2 has been in my Top 10 Movies of All Time since I first made a list in 1998.

I specif­i­cally re­mem­ber where I was when a friend in­no­cently forced me to think se­ri­ously about my bur­geon­ing cin­e­matic predilec­tions, and the fact that I’ve not been able to knock T2 off its perch ever since ei­ther says I’m stuck in the past (next to the place where Guns N’ Roses still re­sides in my Top 10 Favourite Bands) or that the eye-bog­gling molten metal ef­fects of the T-1000 never date.

Hav­ing re­watched it on the big screen in the last week, I can as­sure you it’s down to the lat­ter.

Re­mas­tered and re­leased in 3D, Ter­mi­na­tor 2 is get­ting a short cin­e­matic re­lease, but both die-hard
