Add Violence (The Null Corporation) ★★★★ In December 2016, Trent Reznor and newly appointed NIN member (but longtime Reznor collaborator) Atticus Ross dropped an early Christmas present with Not The Actual Events. Set to be part of a trilogy of EPs, the stunning release drew heavily from premium and gritty 90s era NIN. Add Violence takes quite a different path, one that more resembles Reznor’s lighter post-2000 approach. Lead single Less Than isa banger with a crazy big chorus. Ross’ influence certainly shines through – The Lovers and This Isn’t the Place have superb soundscapes that would fit onto one of the duo’s film scores. Add Violence has an overall eerie and cinematic atmosphere that proves Reznor as one of modern music’s most consistently excellent contributors. - Hugh Collins
