If the boys are home they’re more in­clined to be on the com­puter or watch­ing TV – that’s if they’re not out and about. They’re both go­ing to uni­ver­sity next year in Dunedin. It’s the near­est, a cou­ple of hun­dred kilo­me­tres away, but still I’ll miss them, es­pe­cially with both of them leav­ing at once.

I’ve been col­lect­ing china since 1980. Ross went to Europe and brought me back a piece of French china – a Saint Cloud sugar bowl. It started from there.

Oh dear, do I ad­mit that fire­place is a fake one? It was an open fire­place but all the warmth goes up the chim­ney. So we’ve got heat pumps.
