Ko slips back to pack in Thailand

-

Lydia Ko has failed to keep leaders in the second round LPGA Thailand.

With Ko only managing six holes before play was washed out on Friday, she returned to record another mixed bag with a one-under par 71.

That left the Kiwi world No 1 at three-under for the tournament, eight strokes behind Korea’s Amy Yang who hit the lead with an impressive five-under 67.

Yang has plenty of competition, though, with compatriot So Yeon Ryu, China’s Shanshan Feng and Thai world No 2 Ariya Jutanugarn all just one shot adrift.

Ko seemed poised to make a move up the leaderboard when, resuming her round on the seventh hole, she started with back-to-back birdies.

But while steady, she failed to make any more inroads before dropping a shot on the 16th.
