No US fuel for Saudi jets
The United States will stop refuelling Saudi Arabian aircraft fighting Houthi rebels in Yemen. The move comes amid growing US anger against Saudi Arabia after the October killing of Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi. A Saudi-led coalition has come under heavy criticism for its relentless air strikes in Yemen since 2015, which United Nations experts say have caused most of the estimated 10,000 civilian deaths in the conflict and could constitute a war crime. Several strikes in recent months have killed dozens of children. The US has provided the Saudis and their coalition partners with intelligence, aerial refuelling and military advice.
