?? MATTHEW GIRVAN ?? ‘‘I visited Berlin and went on a tour of Tempelhof Airport, built during the 1920s and 30s and used by the Nazis during World War II. It’s a truly fascinatin­g place, used until 2008, but now it’s a giant monument. I took this shot as three of my mates walked across the tarmac from an old airplane. I love the way the hangar roofline and shadow form a continuous arc cut by the wingspan of the plane, and how the sun silhouette­s the people to give ita Top Gun feel.’’
