Memsie ideal

The Memsie Stakes at Caulfield on August 27 is a likely starting point for the spring campaigns of Tarzino and Tavago. The former’s trainer Mick Price said he didn’t want his colt to have a testing first-up run over a mile so he has opted for the 1400 metres of the Memsie for the VRC Derby and Rosehill Guineas winner. Tarzino will then have runs in the Makybe Diva Stakes and the Underwood Stakes before the Turnbull Stakes, after which Price will decide between a Caulfield Cup or Cox Plate start.
