United States Mur­doch tipped as Tesla re­place­ment chair­man

James Mur­doch is the front-run­ner to be­come Tesla chair­man when Elon Musk steps down. Musk was forced from his post as part of a set­tle­ment with the US Se­cu­ri­ties and Ex­change Com­mis­sion over al­leged se­cu­ri­ties fraud after he claimed he had ‘‘fund­ing se­cured’’ for a -takeover of the elec­tric car­maker. He will re­main as chief ex­ec­u­tive. Mur­doch has been tipped as the lead can­di­date for the job, sources close to the talks told the Fi­nan­cial Times.
