United States Murdoch tipped as Tesla replacement chairman
James Murdoch is the front-runner to become Tesla chairman when Elon Musk steps down. Musk was forced from his post as part of a settlement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission over alleged securities fraud after he claimed he had ‘‘funding secured’’ for a -takeover of the electric carmaker. He will remain as chief executive. Murdoch has been tipped as the lead candidate for the job, sources close to the talks told the Financial Times.
