Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts

Taste - - The Scene -

These rich, custardy, slightly savoury but silky-sweet tarts are highly addictive. The first New Zealand Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart store opened recently on Auckland’s Queen Street but we can only assume there’ll be more to come as they’ve spread quickly across Australia and Asia with over 20,000 tarts being devoured every day. Inspired by the distinct cheesy taste of Japan’s Hokkaido dairy produce and encased in buttery shortcrust, these three-cheese-filled morsels are the ultimate afternoon-tea treat or dessert.
