Truffles and panforte

Taste - - Contents -

Traditional truffles, made from condensed milk, are easy enough for the kids to make.

Crush 1 packet (250g) biscuits (malt biscuits, arrowroots, Anzacs or digestives all work well) either in a food processor or a bag using a rolling pin. Tip into a mixing bowl and add ¹⁄3 cup cocoa powder, ½ cup desiccated coconut and 1 tin (395g) condensed milk and mix.

Take tablespoonfuls of mixture and roll into evensized balls then cover in extra coconut. Chill.

This recipe makes 40 or more balls, depending on size. Try additions such as a couple of tablespoons Nutella or chopped dried apricots or a dash of rum, or dunk half the balls in melted chocolate instead of coconut.
