Too many family harm incidents

Police report June 13-19

There were seven burglaries over the time period.

The Anchorage Motel saw a break-in. One of the rooms was left locked but the next day the television, picture frames, artwork and a blanket were missing from the room.Hatepe Ave: A padlock to the garage has been cut and the internal house access door opened. Offenders have taken a washing basket, two toasters , candles and back pack vacuum cleaner. The lock on the cleaning cupboard was broken but nothing appeared missing from this cupboard.

Tonga Street: A PS4 console, eight games were taken. Mahoe Street: The yard belonging to Downer New Zealand Ltd has been broken into and property stolen. The offender has gained entry via the front gate. The padlock to the front gate was cut for the entry into the yard. A 1.5 tonne excavator has been taken on top of a trailer. The trailer is described as a 2007 Silver Prescott Digger Trailer L346E. The excavator is described as a Grey Takeuchi. There is a broken light rear of the excavator. A huge bucket is also attached to the excavator. There are steel bars that runs on the inside of the bucket. The offenders have also taken a concrete saw off from a truck parked on the yard.

Charles Cres: The victim returned to their house and discovered the small garden shed has been broken into and the weatherboa­rd sleep out has been broken into. The offender has climbed the fence to get into the property. The offender has forced the garden shed open as it was locked. A weed eater and a petrol container has been taken from the garden shed.

SH5 OHAAKI: Someone has entered the pump shed through an unlocked wooden door. The pump shed is located approximat­ely 10 metres from the tanker track on the property. The offender/s have stolen an electric fence unit. Family Harm Incidents: Unfortunat­ely there was an increase in family harm incidents. Police attended 18 incidents over the past week resulting in five arrests . Theft Ex Cars: Vehicle for sale parked at Control Gates Bridge broken into overnight. Theft of Property: There were 12 thefts of property and included thefts from Farmers, Rebel Sport and Pak’n’Save.
