Resort starts its own journey

Taupo Times - - MOTORING - ROBERT STEVEN

Acacia Bay’s Lake Taupo Holiday Resort is leaving the TOP10 holiday park umbrella to focus on creating the ‘‘classic’’ Kiwi holiday park.

Owners Trish and Lloyd Lusty ran the business with TOP10 for 21 years, but are ready to become independent.

‘‘We are ready to stand on our own two feet,’’ Tristy said.

Lloyd said the new brand will offer a ‘‘tropical island’’ take on Kiwiana.

‘‘When we opened our thermal lagoon pool and swim-up bar last year, it was clear that Lake Taupo Holiday Resort had evolved into a category of its own; a destination for the classic Kiwi holiday that we all know and love, but with a tropical island twist,’’ he said.

‘‘It’s a big step for us, but we are so proud to be offering a destination where so many memories will be made.

‘‘A holiday at Lake Taupo Holiday Resort will be about the nostalgic memories we all have; running around as kids, spending quality time with family and friends and making new experiences,’’ he said.

The resort will continue to develop its brand.
