Work starts on site
An impressive collection of large machinery is working on Broadlands Rd, near BP 2Go Tauhara.
Earthworks are well under way for a new six-lot commercial subdivision, with lots ranging in size from 2000 to 10,000 square metres.
Todd Land Development Consultants Ltd project manager Chris Todd says the site has been terraced into usable flat areas for the new owners to operate from, as quite extensive earthworks were required to deal with the rising ground level along Broadlands Rd. Access to the development will be off Broadlands Rd, and a new intersection will also be constructed off Miro St to enable connection to the existing industrial area.
Chris says the four lots closest to the BP have sold, while the other two lots nearer the eastern arterial highway (State Highway 1) have not been allocated as they are still going through the resource consent process. The land is zoned commercial / light industrial, and while not at liberty to disclose the names of the buyers, Chris says the nature of the business attracted to the new subdivision is to do with supporting the building industry.
“The new owners are a mix of existing local business that are relocating to the site, and new business that is coming to Taupo¯ to operate. The business on the lowest terrace is hoping to open in April 2019. Building should begin on this site soon.”
