A South African sta­ble­ford (pairs event, where each player’s sta­ble­ford points on each hole are mul­ti­plied to­gether) was played on Thurs­day with the win­ners Elaine Burch­more and Jenny Cory scor­ing 89 points. The run­ners-up on 78 were Bron­wyn Hal­li­gan and June A’Court, and Dorothy Stone and Gwen Wraight. Vouch­ers from Phar­macy 81, Mir­ror Im­age, Farm­ers Dis­count Meats, Starlight Cin­ema and Cafe Baku/ Vine Eatery de­lighted the girls. Near­est the Pins were won by Carolyn Newth on 16th, Jacky Gaw­ith on 17th, with Betty Har­vey claim­ing the Long­est Putt on 18. These play­ers all re­ceiv­ing a ball each. Next week is ‘Grans Day’ when we wel­come past mem­bers of the Lady Vets Club to join us for lunch.
