Taupo¯ Cake Decorating and Sugar Art Club
Our monthly meeting is on Monday November 12 at 7pm in Liston Heights Hall. Those who went to conference will report back. This will also be our AGM for the year and visitors are welcome. Remember to bring a plate of finger food and a gift valued at $10. prints and the tail end charlies actually spotted two young deer crossing in front of them. Those ahead were surprised to hear and see a plover emerge from the undergrowth.
Later some of us made a slight detour to inspect the ex Forestry Service, now DOC, hut perched up on a hillside, a very picturesque and comfortable looking spot.
From the plateau we descended down a steep gut onto the river flat by the fast-flowing Mohaka river for a break before our return journey. The GPS and the fitbit watches had varying tallies but by the time we arrived back at the bus tired and with a few sore feet we reckon we had walked 19km. Our thanks to Poronui Station for a great day. If you would like to join us for a shorter walk next week or for more information search Taupo¯ Monday Walkers on Facebook, phone 027 592 294 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
