Te Awa­mutu Golf Club stal­wart Colin Green was blown away by the huge num­ber of en­tries for Sun­day’s club scram­ble.

“This must be the best mem­ber sup­port ever for our Sun­day club day,” said Green.

“Con­grat­u­la­tions and thanks to all who made it pos­si­ble. Long may it con­tinue.”

Ed­ward Kay posted the day’s best gross score of 79.

The men’s nett win­ner was Howard Wyn­yard with 71.

Stable­ford scor­ing was mod­est, led by Tim Crotty, Peter McGowan, Dean Tan­giora and Ian Berry all with 36 points.

Women’s win­ners were Sylvia Gooch with 85 gross, Rewa Hawira 69 nett and Ani Bahler, Mar­garet Gray with 34 stable­ford.

Twos were scored by Tan­giora and Berry.

Stand-out men in di­vi­sion two were Mur­ray Green with 94 gross, Robert Cole­man 72 nett and Peter Emery 36 stable­ford.

Green and Chris Chisholm scored twos.

Near­est pin win­ners were An­gela Thom­son (women), Dean Tan­giora (se­nior men) and Chris Chisholm (ju­nior men).

Long drive win­ners were Pauline Chisholm (women), Ed­ward Kay (se­nior men) and Craig Meacheam (ju­nior men).

Sun­day’s nine hole scram­ble win­ners were Karen Corkill with 55 gross and San­dra White 23 stable­ford.

Ray Davies streeted his ri­vals with 43 stable­ford in the open mid­week tour­na­ment. The run­ner-up was Les Com­mon with 36 points.

Jan Man­deno won the women’s club day scram­ble with 36 points from Pauline Chisholm, Chris­tine Ball 34.

There was a triple dead­heat in the nine hole di­vi­sion fea­tur­ing Glenys Brem­ner, Robin Watson, Ann Dob­son all with 16 stable­ford.

Richard Wood­ward and Toby Thom­son were joint win­ners of the Best of the Vets scram­ble last Thurs­day with 41 stable­ford from Les Com­mon 40, Barry Ross 39, Alan Good­win 38, Her­man Ooster­man 36.

Lead­ing Satur­day women were Ani Bahler with 42 stable­ford, Karen Camp­ton 38.

Di­vi­sion two win­ner Mur­ray Green.
