Sharing Shed used as place to dump waste

Te Awamutu Courier - - News -

It’s extremely disappointing to see some people are using the Sharing Shed on Anzac Green as a dumping site.

I guess in their view it saves them money, but sadly it may jeopardise the shed itself.

The concept is sound and appreciated by many people — those who donate and those who gratefully receive.

It would be a shame to see it closed down because of thoughtless people leaving items like old car seats, empty gas cans and open tins of food.

Four women give their time and effort to maintain and run it but they can hardly be expected to pay for the disposal of other people’s rubbish.

There is a list of items that are suitable attached to the shed. If you see anyone getting rid of their unwanted trash take their car registration number and advise the council.

Don’t feel bad about this as you would be protecting the future of the Sharing Shed itself. VERN WILSON Waipa¯ District Councillor
