Tai Chi classes return
The gentle art of Tai Chi will once again grace Te Puke Memorial Hall from next month.
The Taoist Tai Chi Society of New Zealand’s Te Puke classes had decanted to the Lyceum Club during the hall’s closure for refurbishment, but next month they will be back with the return marked by a special one-day workshop for members on June 8. Classes will start on June 11.
“We thank the Lyceum Club of Te Puke for hosting our classes during the hall refurbishment,” says spokesman Paul Harker. “Now we allow the Lyceum Club to have their space, and not have us regularly rearrange their hall furniture.”
Classes in Taoist Tai Chi have been taught in Te Puke for 20 years, in New Zealand for 28 years, and around the world for 48 years. Classes are available to all.
“We are pleased to be back in the Memorial Hall’s spacious and accessible Pioneer room, where we do not have to remove and replace furniture at each class, and where we can set up our gear in onsite storage.”
Beginner classes are open to all on Monday mornings and Tuesday evenings.
“Soon we will offer continuing classes on Monday mornings, as we do on Tuesday evenings. We are thankful for the room space, the access to kitchen, for the parking, and the high profile Te Puke Memorial hall offers.”
Learning the Taoist Tai Chi arts is a lifetime process.
“As a participant, you are welcome to attend as often as you would like at any of our locations. You are welcome to become involved as a volunteer, attend social events, and participate in special programmes offered locally and around the world.”
Thousands of people have benefited from the Taoist Tai Chi arts and accredited volunteers instruct all classes.
The Taoist Tai Chi Society of New Zealand is a registered charity, run by volunteers. Its mission is to help people.
“We promote the principle of all cultures and religions moving together in harmony. Individuals of all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome to practise the Taoist Tai Chi arts.”
Taoist Tai Chi classes resume at Te Puke Memorial Hall next month.
