Each month Te Puke Society of Artists showcases the work of one of its members at its Constables Gallery.

Artist Gerbrig Muntendam’s work is currently being featured.

1. How long have you been painting and how did you start?

I have been painting since 1994. I went to summer school (by accident) in Hamilton that year.

2. What are your favourite medium and subject?

I cannot really say that I have a favorite medium, but work with acrylic at the moment. I like the environment and work on that with acrylic and mixed medium .

I also did metal art and use pastel for portraiture. 3. What inspires you? The environment inspires me, the colours are right in front of you and never clash. My work is by vision and thought and is my own work.

4. What is your greatest achievement in art?

My greatest achievement in art is that I was selected in a World-Expo in Italy in 2016. They invited me to the launch of the book of the selected artists from New Zealand. Unfortunately, we had only just came back from Europe. The book was send to me.

Gerbrig Muntendam is this month’s featured artist at Te Puke Society of Artists.
