Fairhaven opens its new building
The dream of a multi-purpose room has become a reality at Fairhaven School.
The school’s new building was officially opened recently following a great deal of hard work by a number of dedicated people.
Principal Paul Hunt says the Fairhaven Fundraising Association works tirelessly to co-ordinate the school’s annual Thinkwater BOP Fireworks Gala and funds raised at the gala have gone into the new building.
“The board of trustees has also supported the build and there have been grants from TECT ($120,000), Lottery Grants Board, ($120,000), The Lion Foundation ($30,000) and One Foundation ($10,000) that paid for approximately half the building,” he says.
“We now have an amazing facility which will enhance the types of activities we can offer at school, and for our community to use.”
Mirrors on the wall add a new dimension to the activities.
Paul says he wants to thank Shawn Williamson Building, Frequency NZ, Architects 44 and all the tradespeople who worked on the building.
“It looks amazing,” he says.
