Rangiuru Sports to mark 125 years

Te Puke Times - - NEWS - By HINE AHOMIRO

The Rangiuru Sports Club has long been an integral part of the sporting sector — not only in Te Puke but for the wider Bay of Plenty — and it still enjoys that status. Sports played under the mantle of the club are rugby, netball, tennis, 8 ball, rugby league and softball.

This Labour Weekend the club will celebrate its 125th anniversary, toasting the visionary members who conceived the Rangiuru Sports Club, the members who have ensured the legacy continues — and of course, sport.

Through economic booms and recessions, and whanau moving to other parts of the country and the world, Rangiuru has endured, and continued to promote its values of strengthening whanau ties, tikanga and the love of all sports.

We hope to see the Te Puke community sometime during Labour Weekend to help us celebrate our momentous anniversary.

See Te Puke Times next week for more information.
