Young gun supreme with golden dou­ble

Young Te Puke shooter James Sul­li­van has shot his way to gold.

The Te Puke In­ter­me­di­ate School Year 7 stu­dent won two gold medals at the re­cent Bay of Plenty Dis­trict Trap Shoot­ing com­pe­ti­tion.

He won the C Grade Sin­gle Bar­rel di­vi­sion, shoot­ing 20 clay birds out of a pos­si­ble 25. In this con­test, he only had one shot to hit each mov­ing tar­get.

He later went on to fin­ish sec­ond in the sin­gle rise di­vi­sion, where he had two shots to hit the tar­get and was sec­ond in the points score.

This gave him the top points score over­all, win­ning the ju­nior cham­pi­onship ti­tle.

James Sul­li­van won two gold medals at the Bay of Plenty Dis­trict Trap Shoot­ing com­pe­ti­tion.
