Club with no home

The Cut - - 2ND TEE -

The Singapore government has told the Jurong Country Club it must hand over its land by November 2016 for redevelopment, which will include the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail terminus.

The Jurong Country Club was founded in 1975 on land leased from the government. Originally nine holes, it was expanded to 18 and in 2012 it was completely remodelled at a cost of $24 million. The lease was due to expire in 2035.

A further blow to the club is the news that it will not be given a new site.
