Wairakei of­fers sanc­tu­ary

En­dan­gered takahe have a new

re­tire­ment home in Wairakei Golf+Sanc­tu­ary thanks to work un­der­taken by its owner, Gary Lane, to se­cure the site from preda­tors. The Depart­ment of Con­ser­va­tion (DOC) has de­liv­ered the takahe pair, Grant and Flot­som, to the sanc­tu­ary. DOC takahe ranger Phil Marsh
